The operational unit of the Institute for Wild Futures.

The IWF Lab works with knowledge that already exists — scientific research, public data, local experience, cultural memory, institutional evidence — and turns it into formats that can be understood, used, adopted, and sustained.

The Lab helps partners:

• —map knowledge, actors, and decisions;
• —translate research into policy-ready materials;
• —create tools and public resources;
• —design adoption pathways;
• —test ideas with real users and institutions;
• —keep knowledge accessible, open, and useful over time.

1. 01 — Frame

   We define the decision at stake with partners: who needs to act, on what timeline, and what knowledge is missing or unusable.

2. 02 — Assemble

   We gather the existing evidence, territorial experience, and institutional constraints into one shared working picture.

3. 03 — Prototype

   We build the smallest usable output — a tool, brief, map, or pilot design — and test it with the people expected to use it.

4. 04 — Land

   We adapt the output to institutional formats and timing so it can enter real decisions, budgets, and processes.

5. 05 — Return

   We restitute results publicly to the communities and territories involved, in accessible language and open formats.

6. 06 — Sustain

   We keep methods, data, and materials open and documented so partners can reuse and adapt them beyond the first project.
